Richard joined Chief Automotive Technologies as a Training Instructor in 1996, after fifteen years in the bodyshop business as a lead body and structural repair technician. In 2005 he wasnamed Manager of Training and IndustrialAffairs and began working with OEM’s to determine current and future changes inautomotive technology; how those changes would impact training materials andtechniques, and then develops the curriculum.
Richard spends a great deal of histime at OEM research and technical facilities, working side by side with thetop OEM engineers to ensure that Chief is current with proper repair equipmentand training. A valuable resource forboth Chief and the OEM’s it partners with, Richard is called on frequently byOEM’s to consult on both proper repair procedures as well as the design of newequipment required to repair newly designed features. Additionally, Richard serves as Chief’sliaison to the insurance industry, as Chief Training is a requirement forappraisers from most of the nation’s primary insurance providers. He also serves as Chief’s representative at anumber of industry conferences, including CIC and NATEF, as well as nationaland international industry trade shows. Richard is currently serving on theInternational Board of Directors for I-CAR as of 2013.
Ken currently has both domestic and international training responsibilities for VSG that include curriculum and staff development, OEM, Insurance and Industry relationships. He started with Chief originally in 1986 as an instructor in Anaheim, Ca. where still resides. Ken has also worked as an ICAR instructor and consultant for over 20 years and has twice received the Instructor of the Year Award. Ken believes that education is all about being excited about something and seeing passion and enthusiasm helps push the educational message and the Chief repair philosophy.
Ken brings vast experience and skill to the education of students with over 30 years in the Collision Repair Industry. He is well know in the industry for his integrity and professional knowledge. Having witnessed vehicle manufactures constant change betweeen Full Frame, Unibody and Advanced Frame materials he understands the need for current information and training for the Collision Repair Professional.
Ruben joined Chief in October 2010 as a Research and Specification Technician in our Irvine, CA Measuring and Specification Center. Ruben was a valued member of our measuring and specification team and was promoted to Research and Specification Center supervisor in 2013. In July 2014, Ruben was promoted to Collision Training Facilitator were he joined the new team of Chief trainers who are extremely talented and knowledgeable automotive enthusiast. Prior to joining VSG, Ruben worked for Bristol Insurance for 12 years. Ruben worked in a variety of departments within the insurance company and was an automotive damage appraiser for 6 years. Ruben entered the Body Shop Managers program at Cerritos Community College in 2001. Ruben is I-CAR Platinum certified. Ruben also served in the U.S. Army Reserved as a Civil Affairs Specialist and Intelligence Analyst for 8 years.
Mike Joined Chief Automotive Technologies in 2014 as a Chief University Instructor. He joined our team with over 15 years of experience in the collision industry and holds a degree in Automotive Business Management. Previously, Mike was a seasoned Collision Equipment Manager for a Chief Automotive distributor where he successfully managed sales, training and installation for frame equipment, MIG welding, STRSW welding and refinishing equipment, and has been a technician & service writer in different automotive dealers. In addition to his professional goals, Mike has always enjoyed volunteer work within the automotive industry. He is a devoted advisor for various technical school organizations, a National Technical Committee member with Skills-USA and while using his hands on approach in training to serve as an I-CAR Instructor. This association has given Mike the opportunity to build many strong business relationships with key players in the automotive training industry on a national level. Mike’s dedication to the collision industry, friendly demeanor and great family orientation are what we strive for at Chief.
Jeff is based in Madison, IN and has been a Product Consultant, Customer Service Supervisor and trainer for Rotary Lift products for approximately 12 years. Jeff joined Chief Automotive Technologies and has been a valued Technical Consultant team member (Tech Support) since 2011. Jeff has also been a Technical Trainer for Chief Automotive, training distributors in how to properly repair and trouble shoot equipment. Jeff has a back ground where he grew up around the collision repair community.
