The cab of the 2009 Ford F-150 includes an extensive amount of high strength steels, and Ford recommends that the cab be detached from the frame before attempting structural repairs.

Ford and Chief engineers worked together to develop the Design Based Anchoring System…a system that enables shops to restore damaged 2009 F-150's to their pre-collision condition using the repair procedures recommended by Ford… and to make structural repairs to the cab and frame simultaneously for leaner operations and faster cycle times.
The cab of the 2009 F-150 contains now fewer than seven different steel alloys, but the floor is mild steel which can be distorted using traditional pulling. That’s why removing and anchoring the cab before structural repairs is an essential part of Ford’s recommended repair procedures.
